Ubisoft has another hit franchise in its stable.
The publisher revealed today that its online shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division has had best first week ever for a new games franchise. Previously, its opening day sales were the best in the company’s history. According to Ubisoft, The Division has generated $330 million globally in its first five days. The game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, key platforms in the $99.3 billion global game market.

We are very proud of our teams, and humbled by and thankful for the millions of players who are giving us their feedback and support,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer and co-founder of Ubisoft, in the blog post. “The Division is the latest example yet of our unique ability to deliver immersive gaming playgrounds that keep players engaged, and that they eagerly share with their friends and community.”
Ubisoft must be thrilled with this performance. The company also noted that The Division had 1.2 million peak concurrent users over the weekend. This could especially help Ubisoft in a year when it won’t have a new Assassin’s Creed game, which used to be a reliable source of annual revenue for the company. Ubisoft also had the best-selling game in February with Far Cry: Primal.
