All around San Francisco, Uber addicts are just now coming to terms with a terrible truth: Today Uber carpool rides went up from a fixed rate of $5 to a new $7 max price.

I know. I know. It’s going to be hard.

“Starting today, Uber writes, “you can get anywhere in S.F. for $7 or less. That’s every uberPOOL ride, anywhere between the Ferry Building and Ocean Beach.”

Of course, seven bucks is still a pretty cheap ride. But as one user points out below, this appears to be one of the first times Uber has increased prices in San Francisco — even temporary deals usually stick around.

Anyways, we’re sure you’ll survive (like you did even before Uber existed), somehow.
