Hackers have stolen customer credit card data from the upscale retailer Neiman Marcus. The theft was reported by Brian Krebs at Krebs on Security.
The retail chain confirmed to Krebs that it is working with the U.S. Secret Service to investigate a hacker break-in that has exposed an unknown number of customer cards. The breach is similar to the hack that netted thieves data on 110 million customers at the Target retail chain during the busy holiday season.

On Jan. 1, the forensics team found that the company was the victim of a criminal cyber-security intrusion and that customer card data was compromised. The company said it is taking steps to inform customers of the breach.
