Yesterday we ran a story about two employment listings Apple posted at its website looking for people with virtual reality and Oculus experience. The ads, we believe, had just gone up, and now they have been taken down.

One of the ads described the need for an engineer who might work on VR hardware products. The other described an app developer who might develop 3D or virtual reality experiences for existing Apple devices — possibly for gaming.

Why were the ads taken down? We’ve contacted Apple to find out, but no response yet.

It’s pretty likely that the ads tipped the uber-secretive tech company’s hand. Somebody in the marketing department may have placed a call to someone in human resources saying, “Take those down ASAP.”
