It’s time to transform and roll out … to fight a battle to save the multiverse.
Kabam announced Transformers: Forged to Fight today. It’s a new “action-fighting” game for mobile, and it features characters from TV, films, comics, and the toy line (that’s a varied bunch, pointing at a mix of Generation 1 characters that folks love from the original cartoons, the “Bayformers” of the movies, and updated designs from publisher IDW’s comic books). It enters beta-testing soon and will release in the spring, giving Kabam another contender in the crowded, cuthroat $36.6 billion mobile game market.

It’s coming from the highly regarded Vancouver studio, which GamesBeat reported in October had been the subject of an unsolicited sales bid.
According to a release from Kabam, this mixture of different Transformers storylines and toys is a result of multiple realities colliding. Players will cobble together teams of Autobots and Decepticons to battle against a group of corrupted Transformers and their overlords. It has 1-on-1 battles, with role-playing game mechanics to level up your characters.

As far as what “action-fighting” means, Kabam said via email that “the game is first and foremost an action 3D fighting game that will feature deep RPG elements.”
“The Transformers franchise and its characters are larger than life, and Kabam is working closely with Hasbro to develop a game that lives up to that expectation,” said executive producer Mike McCartney. “It will be a thrilling experience for long-time fans of the brand as well as newcomers, offering players incredible visuals, action-packed gameplay, and a truly immersive world.”
