France’s Triber thinks that everybody should create apps. And it has raised a seed round of $336,000 to create a service that enables any smartphone user to create an iPhone or Android mobile app, instantly.

Triber’s app takes you through a few steps that let you customize your own social media app, including setting up an app icon, name, content, chat parameters, and design. The Triber app then creates the app to your specifications in a matter of seconds. Your app is available for download via a simple web link, and can be published to the app stores by users who subscribe to the premium plan.

The company was founded in June 2014 by Francois Carlot and Duncan Smith. They say Triber is an ideal way for social media power users such as celebrities, sports figures, and influencers to stay closer to their fan base, right on their phones. Several celebrities have launched their apps using Triber, including Ranz Kyle, who has more than 2 million fans on Facebook.

Triber also works for any clubs, associations, teams or professionals who want to federate their members. And the company says it also works for anyone willing to share his or her personal app with friends to stay connected in a more personal way. It takes as little as three clicks to create an app.

“We’re really excited to launch Triber and allow anyone to build and share an app to stay connected to their tribe at all times,” Carlot said in a statement. “We believe that Triber brings an original approach to the current mobile app landscape. Our vision is to give people control over their digital life, and provide useful tools for better interactions.”

Triber raised money from tech entrepreneurs Stéphane Bonjean (Time2Buy, DynAdmic), Nicolas Béraud (Sport4Fun, Betclic, TripleFun), and Dan Offner, a Los Angeles-based tech lawyer and former counsel for Oculus VR. Founding investors include Carlot (Ship & Duck), Mathieu Collas (Telaxo), Julien Parrou (ConcoursMania) and former investment banker Mathieu Daouphars.

Triber has already been used to create more than 10,000 apps in just two months, and it has 50,000 registered users on both the App Store and Google Play.

After you create your app, your friends, fans or followers will be able to keep “you” in their pocket at all times. With your app, they get all your social activity (posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube) combined into a single feed. They can interact, engage (like, comment, share, or retweet), or chat with you, either privately or publicly.
