One of gaming’s biggest companies is bringing its biggest fan event to a new city.
Twitch, which is behind the the popular livestreaming site, announced the details for its second TwitchCon, which will take place in San Diego from September 30 to October 2 at the 2,600,000 square-foot San Diego Convention Center. This moves the convention from its location in San Francisco at the Moscone Center (which notes it has over 2 million square feet of space on its site) last year. Twitch has over 100 million visitors a month and has changed the industry by showing how popular gaming can be as a spectator sport, either from people simply watching someone play because they enjoy their personality or by viewing top-level competition in esports.

Twitch said that the size of the convention hall in San Francisco nor the city’s expensive nature played factors in the decision to move to San Diego.

“Neither were a factor in our decision and we have not ruled out returning to San Francisco in the future,” Brady told GamesBeat.
TwitchCon 2015 attracted 20,000 attendees. The second show promises to give gamers another platform to interact and play with each other (and, of course, broadcast to others).
