Uber CEO Travis Kalanick also drives for Uber, and claims a five-star rating

As CEO of one of the world’s most disruptive and valued startups, you’d think Travis Kalanick has too much on his plate to be taking on extra work in his spare time. But the Uber cofounder not only travels in Uber cars, he drives them.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert on the Late Show, as reported by Motherboard, Kalanick was asked if he ever “drove an Uber.” “Of course,” he retorted. And, he claims, he has a perfect five-star rating across the board.

Prior to founding Uber in 2009, Kalanick sold peer-to-peer file-sharing company Red Swoosh to Akamai for $19 million. And now as head honcho of an “uber”-successful company that operates across hundreds of cities, it’s clear he’s not moonlighting as a driver for the cash. “For me, it’s just fun,” he said.
