Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End stolen in the U.K. — Sony warns to beware spoilers

Well, it is a little funny that this happened to a game with the subtitle A Thief’s End.

Sony president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida noted on the PlayStation Blog today that someone has stolen copies of Uncharted 4 in the U.K. while they were in transit (presumably to stores). The third-person shooter doesn’t come out until May 10. It’s the latest installment in a series that has sold over 21 million copies. It’s also one of the PlayStation 4’s most anticipated games since its 2013 debut, but now fans will have to worry about avoiding spoilers on the Internet.

“An extremely talented team has worked long and hard to bring Nathan Drake’s greatest adventure to life and we would urge you to help us prevent this from being spoilt by not purchasing copies of the game ahead of the launch date,” Yoshida pleaded. “Please rest assured we will be very vigilant to protect you from this as far as we can so you can enjoy Uncharted 4’s experience to its fullest on May 10.”

Thefts of this kind happen sometimes. A shipment of Nintendo games also suffered the same in the U.K. fate earlier this month.

Fans love developer Naughty Dog’s games for their stories just as much as for their gameplay. It could be devastating for a follower of the series to have this new chapter ruined by an Internet troll.
