Uncorporeal Systems came out of stealth today to announce a partnership with media company RadicalMedia to capture human images for the purpose of creating realistic humans in virtual reality and augmented reality experiences.

Uncorporeal is working with volumetric capture technology to inject real human imagery into AR/VR. The tech can save months of post production, animation and stitching time for digital artists. With the tech, humans can become super-realistic holograms that designers can place in any environment — animated, game, or real-world settings within AR/VR.

The applications of the technology extend into Hollywood, sports, and training. Uncorporeal’s CEO is Sebastian Marino, an Academy Award winner and computer graphics supervisor for Avatar.

“We are honored and excited to be working with RadicalMedia, one of the most ground-breaking, creative and cutting-edge content creators in the world today, with a long history of innovation that we look forward to extending into augmented and mixed reality” said Marino, in a statement. He added, “after working with RadicalMedia it became evident that their team is highly qualified and able to understand and integrate advanced technologies into the traditional content pipeline to deliver the next-generation of entertainment.”
