When it came time to share with viewers what to expect of this year’s CES, Fox News turned to VentureBeat’s Editor-in-Chief, Dylan Tweney.

With the event now in full swing, Tweney acknowledged that wearables will be everywhere at CES. “Everyone wants to be the next Apple watch,” said Tweney, “but unfortunately we’re going to have to wait for the Apple Watch to come out.” And as everyone knows, Apple doesn’t do CES.

But Tweney is pumped about the Withings Activé watch, which pairs an elegant analog watch with a fitness tracker. When first announced, the price tag was pretty steep ($450), but great things can happen at the CES, like announcing the Activé Pop, starting at $150.

When asked about technology that never makes it beyond CES to mass adoption (think Google Glass and even 3D TV), Tweney talked about the 8k TVs that will be hyped at this year’s CES. “Manufacturers are going to be showing off 8K TVs, which are 16 times as many pixels that you have in your HD TV today,” explains Tweney. “But there’s no content for 8K, there are no cameras for 8K, and most people don’t even know why they need a 4K TV yet.”
