For the first time ever, you’ll be able to purchase an iPhone on its launch day from Wal-Mart. The mega-retailer announced today that it will be among several retailers to sell Apple’s upcoming iPhone 4 on June 24th, CNET reports.

Best Buy will also have iPhone 4 available on launch day, if the rumors are correct, and according to CNET, some Radio Shack employees have begun telling customers that they’ll be offering it as well.

After three years of launching the iPhone at Apple and AT&T stores, it’s likely that Apple is looking to push eager customers to other retail locations to reduce the stress employees face at its own stores. It’s also a good thing for consumers, who may not have to worry about waiting in a crowded line (possibly overnight) just to own Apple’s next must-have toy.

As always, prospective iPhone buyers also have the option of preordering the device from Apple’s website to have it delivered on launch day. Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that pre-orders for iPhone 4 will begin on June 15. Wal-Mart won’t be offering a pre-order option, and it’s unclear where other retailers stand with pre-orders.
