Sorry, PC players of Mortal Kombat X.

A community specialist from developer Netherrealm Studios confirmed today on the fighting game’s message board that the second wave of downloadable characters — consisting of Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Xenomorph from Alien, Bo’Rai Cho from the series’ past, and Triborg (a combination of the robotic Smoke, Cyrax, and Sektor), won’t be coming to the PC version of the game.

This adds another mark against publisher Warner Bros.’ track record with the PC platform after it famously had to pull and refund the PC version of last year’s Batman: Arkham Knight after it suffered significant performance issues at launch.

Mortal Kombat X was the ninth best-selling game of last year, according to the NPD group. According to Steam Spy, almost 500,000 players own the Steam version of the game. It’s bizarre to see a publisher block new content from a major platform, especially when that publisher is Warner Bros. and the platform is PC. You would think Warner Bros. would do anything it could to rebuild some goodwill with the PC base.

Warner Bros. also announced today a new version of Mortal Kombat X, called Mortal Kombat XL, which will include every DLC character released for the game. However, it’s only coming out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Again, PC players get the shaft.
