Star Wars is everywhere — and that includes medieval destruction simulators.
The soccer-ball-like droid BB-8 is one of the best new characters in The Force Awakens, but you don’t have to rush back to the movie theater to watch him get up to some mischief. You could, instead, boot up the excellent PC build-and-destroy game Besiege on Steam. Community creator MrMcRush has used the machine-making tools in Besiege to craft a functioning BB-8. The head even stays atop the rolling-ball body. Of course, unlike the film, MrMcRush made this BB-8 primarily out of wood. The best part is that you can play with BB-8 yourself by subscribing to the item on the Steam Workshop and loading up Besiege’s sandbox mode.

Besiege is still in Early Access, which is a designation that games get on Steam if they are not finished. But is also on sale right now for only $5.59 as part of Valve’s winter sale. That’s a great deal for a game I’ve spent a ton of time with.
In fact, even while it was only in Early Access, I considered putting it on my top 10 list for the best games of 2015. I will definitely keep it in mind for 2016 if it exits Early Access within the next year.
