Watch the live stream of Neil deGrasse Tyson’s SXSW Keynote about ‘Cosmos’

Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson took the stage at the South by Southwest interactive show just moments ago to chat about his upcoming new show Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, which will premiere on Fox this week to a global audience.

Tyson is set to discuss the state of science literacy in the country in relation to the new show. And if you’re not in attendance, you can still catch the keynote live via SXSW’s live stream video feed.

For those not familiar with the appeal of Cosmos, it’s actually an updated version of the original 1980 series by Carl Sagan, which was likely watched by nearly every high school science class at least once.

Among the subjects Tyson spoke (is speaking) about include how to improve science education in schools (specifically those motivational posters with a picture of space and the caption “believe”), talking to your kids about the tooth fairy, and the one kid in the world who wrote a letter of apology for calling Tyson a “poo poo head” for his role in declassifying Pluto as a planet.
