…and that’s all going on right here in Silicon Valley:

Hummer Winblad still embroiled in Napster suit — Here’s the Red Herring piece about the latest, regarding charges that Hummer Winblad erased email pertaining to the case.

YouTube has porno clone; adult sites are sprouting. The sex sites are getting crowded, in both senses. Techcrunch writes up the scoop on PornoTube, which is a YouTube for adult content. It doesn’t mention where PornoTube or another adult site SocialPorn are based. But Heatseek, a third site, is pure Silicon Valley. The founders and employees are trying to remain anonymous because many of them hold day jobs here, but here’s what we know, besides what Techcrunch already wrote about the site — which is designed to make watching adult content easy and safe (easy to close down quickly if someone walks in the room). They are self-funded, but open to investment inquiries. They’re focused on making downloading, viewing and organizing much easier than it is now — but they remain focused entirely on software. “We do not (and have no intention to) serve any adult content ourselves,” one of them told us.

Paul Martino, formerly of Tribe, launches ecommerce analytics companyAggregate Knowledge, of Mountain View, will collect online consumer reading patterns across consumer oriented (ecommerce) Web sites, helping the sites better understand what ads or pages people are likely to click on after reading something else. Paul mentioned he was doing this several months ago, and now it is public that he has raised $230,000 in a seed round led by First Round Capital. While he was chief technology officer Tribe, that company focused on consumers early in the Web 2.0 era, but Paul tells us he sees the market turning. Now it is good time to build companies that serve those consumer-focused sites, he says.
