YouTube has porno clone; adult sites are sprouting. The sex sites are getting crowded, in both senses. Techcrunch writes up the scoop on PornoTube, which is a YouTube for adult content. It doesn’t mention where PornoTube or another adult site SocialPorn are based. But Heatseek, a third site, is pure Silicon Valley. The founders and employees are trying to remain anonymous because many of them hold day jobs here, but here’s what we know, besides what Techcrunch already wrote about the site — which is designed to make watching adult content easy and safe (easy to close down quickly if someone walks in the room). Paul mentioned he was doing this several months ago, and now it is public that he has raised $230,000 in a seed round led by First Round Capital. While he was chief technology officer Tribe, that company focused on consumers early in the Web 2.0 era, but Paul tells us he sees the market turning. Now it is good time to build companies that serve those consumer-focused sites, he says.
