Nintendo is preparing a new system update for its Wii U console to fix a specific bug with YouTube connectivity.

It’s a pretty cool feature, posting highlights straight from kart racer Mario Kart 8 to YouTube, but it’s not working out that easy for everyone. Since Nintendo updated the game last week, many gamers now get the error code 104-1852 when they try uploading a highlight reel. Luckily, Nintendo is aware of the problem and is preparing a system update to rectify it. That it’s acting fast is further proof that the Japanese gaming giant — not always considered the most cutting-edge of the three big console manufacturers —  is starting to get a handle on integrating social features with its systems.

“Currently, when attempting to upload a game highlight video to YouTube, some users may receive Error Code 104-1852 and the video upload may fail as a result,” said a moderator on the Nintendo tech support forum.  “Nintendo is aware of this and a system update to address this issue is being prepared.”

We have no word on a time scale for this system update, but Nintendo will provide a status update on its support website when it’s ready for release.
