Xbox One and PlayStation 4 may have built-in livestreaming capabilities, but many professional broadcasters prefer more powerful software that runs independently on a PC. One of those tools is getting a big update today.

SplitmediaLabs unleashed the version 2.0 revision of its XSplit broadcasting tool today. You can download it right now and try out many of its new features even if you only sign up for a free license. New additions in V2 include audio improvements and a “Screen Preview Editor.” The company even removed its logo from HD broadcasts for people using the free version. XSplit is one of the most popular tools for people who broadcast gameplay on sites like Twitch, and it is considered the premium option compared to competing tool Open Broadcasting Software, which is free.

“For XSplit V2, we wanted to ensure that everyone benefited from this update whether you’re a Free, Personal or Premium user,” SplitmediaLabs chief executive officer Henrik Levering said in a statement. “For Free users, we wanted to make both live streaming and recording as accessible as possible, which is why we have lifted some of our old restrictions allowing people to now broadcast in HD without obtrusive watermarks and as many limitations. For Personal and Premium users, we wanted you to try out first hand some of the cool new features we’ve been busy working on.”

Some of those new features include the capability to pause and resume recording, a speedier video editor, and better software or hardware video encoding. In addition to updating its flagship XSplit software, SplitmediaLabs also made some improvements to its more streamlined Gamecaster tool. Both updates are available on the company’s website.
