Yahoo chief executive Marissa Mayer said yesterday that Yahoo’s focus continues to be on mobile, native, video, and social, and today the company is adding two new ad products in line with that mission.
Yahoo is rolling out native video ads and video app-install ads ahead of its NewFronts marketing conference next week. Advertisers will now be able to create video ads that appear on Yahoo’s homepage and in its digital magazines and apps. In addition to these two ad formats, advertisers can access Flurry analytics to see how well the ads are performing and, in the case of install-ads, if they’re driving app installs.
While the new ad products may lure in new advertisers, it’s Flurry’s mobile analytics that sweeten the deal. Yahoo acquired Flurry in July of last year to push into the blossoming mobile market.
