Apple’s new free operating system, OS X Yosemite, is now ready for download in the Mac App Store.

Apple announced the OS X Yosemite public release earlier today at a press event. The update adds a number of new features, including something called “hand off,” which allows users to start a task on one device and pick up where they left off on another device (for instance, starting a document on your iPad and picking it up on your iMac).

It’s noteworthy that some Mac users are getting error messages when they try to download Yosemite, according to MacRumors.
