ZTE opens U.S. preorders for its $300 Axon 7 Mini smartphone, will ship from October 27

ZTE Axon 7 Mini

ZTE has opened preorders in the U.S. for the recently announced Axon 7 Mini smartphone, and the company has confirmed to VentureBeat that it expects the device to start shipping from October 27.

The Axon 7 Mini was unveiled at IFA last month and serves as the follow-up to the flagship Google Daydream-ready ZTE Axon 7 that was launched back in May. With a 5.2-inch screen, the Axon 7 Mini isn’t exactly small, but this perhaps highlights how big smartphones have become — and given that it’s 0.3-inches smaller than the Axon 7, ZTE can’t exactly be accused of fibbing.

In addition to the 5.2″ AMOLED display and metal casing, the device packs 3GB ram, dual-SIM capacity, dual front-facing speakers, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera accompanied by a 8-megapixel front shooter, and a headphone jack (winks).

The Axon 7 Mini can be ordered in the U.S. now for $300 and is available in two colors — platinum gray can be bought through Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, New Egg, and ZTE USA’s own online shop. The ion gold incarnation, however, will be exclusive to Best Buy for the first two months.
