Google Drive might be working for you, but for a small percentage of users it’s not working. Google has reported ongoing issues with Drive today in its Apps Status Dashboard.

The first notification came at 8:50 a.m. Pacific, saying Google was investigating issues. The company said it expected to have the downtime fixed by 11:55 a.m. But that didn’t happen.

At 11:55 a.m. Google specified that the issues were affecting less than 1.5 percent of users. That might not sound like much, but Google Drive had more than 240 million users as of October 2014. By my count, that means 3.6 million people could be having Drive problems today.

At 1:15 p.m. Google said the team was still “continuing to investigate this issue,” and said it would provide another update in an hour.

“Affected users are encountering the error ‘The server encountered an error. Please try again later,’ Google said.

Drive doesn’t go down very often. It did go down in October.

We’ll update this post with more information as it becomes available.

Update at 2:22 p.m. Pacific: At 2:11 p.m., Google said that the issues affecting Drive have been resolved.
