???????????
Whatever the title of this game is, it must have something to do with pain. It’s so ridiculously difficult that I found myself hunting for a slot on my Xbox 360 to insert quarters. The enemies seem to kill you simply by looking in your general direction. The developer is so confident that you won’t make any progress within the trial period that they even gave you access to every level from the start. The old-school style of the game is endearing, but otherwise there’s very little fun to be salvaged here. (240pts)

GLITNIR
GLITNIR reveals a flaw in the tower defense "genre". It’s not really a genre, it’s just a good game someone made one time that everyone else is remaking over and over again. The proof is clear: despite how bad GLITNIR’s controls and presentation are, it’s still fun. That’s not because GLITNIR is a good game, but because it’s a serviceable copy of someone else’s game. (80pts)

Division Omega
Combat in Division Omega is a lot like precise photo-editing, or threading a needle. It combines confusing controls with slow tank-shooting and enemies that seem to wander out of the way of your bullets just in time. The result is that exact frustration that those aforementioned tasks can create, but without any of the reward. (240pts)

Veks and Silence
Though the visual style of Veks and Silence is extremely busy, it’s the most technically impressive XBLI title to come out in a while. Based on the demo stage, you basically walk from left-to-right blasting zombies with a variety of weapons. It’s fun enough, but it’s unclear whether Veks has legs to stand on beyond its good looks. Stay tuned for a more thorough review soon. It’s definitely a game to look out for though. (400pts)

Headshot
Another case for free Indie games, Head Shot is fun but far too simple to justify any kind of purchase. Each round, one man in a crowd will pull a gun – it’s up to you to quickly find them and shoot them in the head. This repeats and becomes more difficult with each passing round. Perhaps as part of a minigame collection Head Shot would make more sense, but as it is, it’s not all that different from the "Shoot the Target" ads you find on the web. (80pts)
