The Dreamcast is not dead. It my be underground, but they forgot to cover it with dirt.

The thing I love about the Dreamcast isn’t the strange games about dancing reporters, Driving a taxi like a mad man,  or trying not to bust a move while getting my character to spray paint on a wall.  It was the thriving home brew scene.  See the Dreamcast needed NO modding to run unsigned code.  While it was one of the piracy put a huge nail in it’s commercial coffin it made it’s second life possible.

I got my Dreamcast after it died at a yard sale because I wanted to play old NES games.  I found the website DCEmulation.com and it was filled with links to a whole mess of home brew games.   A lot of great original games, and a lot of amazing Ports.  Also the message board was had a lot of great people from ALL over the globe.  It was the first time I ever felt like I was part of a Gaming Community.  I had friends that played games growing up, but it is like comparing a tribe to the holy empire of Rome.  The community died down a little because of back ground drama, and a lot of people ended up posting on another site.

Here is a site with a list of games to try out.  There are honestly to many to great ones to list.
