The first thing that made me feel old was a stop to a video game store.  Growing up I got my NES in Kindergarten, and I never looked back.  Well between Kindergarten and the first two years of college I went from NES to PS2 with my older brothers Atari 2600 thrown in for good luck.  That is a huge leap.

Well this happened when I was 26 two years ago.  My local EB Games was cleaning out the back room so they had this strange Clearance sale.  It was the first time I think I ever saw games for almost EVERY console in one store.  I am talking 2600, Jaguar, Neo Geo, NES, 3Do and the list keeps going on.  Well there were these buckets of controllers with two kids digging though them.  I hear two things that cut though to my very soul.

First was when they found a Genisis controller. “Sega use to make controllers?”  “I wonder what system there were for.”  My first thought was COME ON THE DREAMCAST HAS ONLY BEEN DEAD FOR LIKE 5 OR 7 YEARS!!”

The second thing I heard that just hurt my heart. (Holding a NES controller) “Only two buttons? What can you do with this!”  My first thought was “Well you can take down an alien civilization in Conrta, destroy a planet from the inside on Guardian Legend, Save the princess in Mario, be a Hero in Zelda and get body issues from that Yoga game with the mat.”

Really what I getting to is this: Please parents gag your children.  I don’t think they are cute, or enjoy having them around.  (Well unless they are babies,  babies are always CUTE!)
