GDC 2010 Sony Press Conference

To the Mobbers and Mobbettes who are not allowed within 50 yards of Demian Linn (you know who you are), but want to know every grizzle of detail from Sony's GDC Press Conference, this live blog is for you.  For those who have access, G4 has exclusive coverage showing the event for all the streamers.  For those who have net at work, but have G4 block, all three of you, I will update the blog with commentary, funny, insightful, and racy for free.

4:05 Demostrating the motion controller today. "aimlessly diverse and one by one body tracking movement"

4:06 Playstation Move is the motion control with true HD gaming experience.  Peter Dille on.  The motion controller looks as small as a microphone.

4:15 Playstation Move's precision is by the controller and the Playstation Eye.

4:16 Precision is the key word for today's conference.  Core gamer wants precision, and Sony is going to deliver.  Being sold with controllers only, Eye with controllers and a game or bundled with a Playstation Slim.  Starter Kit under $100, with an Eye, controllers and a game.

4:18 Video being shown, guessing it will be on PSN on Thursday.  Fight Club like game pimped, Archery, Table tennis, Tiger Woods Woods yall, a Gladiator game, a party game, on Blu Ray as well.

4:20 Scott Roady Rohde, kinda Dan Shoe Hsu, is wearing a short sleeve black dress shirt with jeans, no tie.  Does he think he is Steve Jobs…  ooh 420.

4:22 Gladiator Duel being demode on screen.  Playstation Move seems very accurately tracking movements of the live demo, Juggles, jumping attack, with on-screen prompts with two motion controllers at once.  Another game is shown, Table Tennis.

4:24 Forehand, backhand pimp slapping, or table tennis is served.  Chop shot. 

4:26 Move Party, augmented reality in your living room.  Reminds me of MS In the Movies game.  Bug swatting, drawing geometry game, hair cutting, directing chicks via a hand fan game, will be at demo kiosks.  "Chicks hit the fan"

4:29 Little Big Planet will have Playstation Move functionality. One player with the motion controller, while the other controls sackboy.  The motion controller solves puzzles as the other plays the level.  Co-op play and a small dash of competitive play. 

4:32 Video of Eye Pet being shown.  This has to be the killer app for the Playstation 3, so cute.  Coming Holiday 2010.

4:35 Motion Fighters is now being demo.  Imagine wii Boxing with HD visuals, but with a bit more options with the punches. 

4:36 Socom 4 will be using Playstation Move.  One controller uses the left stick whill the other controls the camera and the crosshairs.  There is a ton of aim assist, being used.  Can play the entire game while using Playstation Move.

4:39 All games demo were Pre-Alpha.

4:40 3rd Party banner, all are on board with PS Move.  Activision emblem on the top left, whereas EA's is on the bottom right.  Many games will be played either with PS3 Dualshock or the Playstation Move. 3-D gaming will not be pimped.  Arcade setup 30 kiosks are set for play at GDC.

Socom 4 looked really good, they are up there with Modern Warfare 2 visuals.  The era of waggle is over, the time of the Move is now.  Or in Holiday 2010. No announcement if the Playstation Move has rumble or not.  Many games will be playable with Move or DualShock 3.
