As any self-respecting completionist is probably aware, achievements, and especially those hard-to-get ones, mean a lot.
This past Spring Break, I spent the nine days relaxing in Marco Island, Florida, at my family's beloved condo. During this period, I spent a great deal of time hitting up the beaches for some beach soccer, the pools for some swimming, and my 360, for as you guessed it, for some well deserved gaming. Now, in case you aren't aware, it's rather rare that I can devote hours upon hours to gaming. So much of my time is dominated by school, the two sports I participate in, and preparing for the ACT. Naturally, I was psyched to catch up on some achievements, such as completing Fable II with all the different endings, completing Halo 3 on Legendary and finding all the skulls, and getting in some much needed Final Fantasy XIII time.
So as you might expect, each day I raided the aforementioned beaches and pools, and returned to my condo, exhausted, later to stay up well into the brisk Florida nights playing games.
Then, after eight days or so, I slept over at my friend's condo, recovered my Gamertag, just as I have done many times in the past in order to play Halo 3 (something that in retrospect, wasn't all that necessary). Thinking all was well, I later returned home to find out that my treasured 8000+ Gamerscore hadn't made the trip along with me. No, this isn't a sob story where my hard drive broke in my suitcase on the way home, but it's pretty close.
So when that faithful moment had me attempt to sign in to Xbox Live using my hard drive, I was presented with a stolid phrase that only a corporation lacking much of any heart might say; "Your membership is invalid." Upon witnessing this, I was immediately confused. I visited Xbox.com to find further explanation that served to help me in no way. I tried Xbox customer support to only realize that it is likely run by a robot — my email was clearly a rote template to appease any less than resourceful gamer who doesn't have the wherewithal to find the answers to his or her issue, despite them being in front of his or her nose, or in this case, on his or her fingertips.
But I was not this gamer, I was a furious gamer. So as the well overused phrase goes, this begs the question, how can I "sync", so to speak, my current Gamerscore (and let me have you know, the means by which I acquired the achievements was nothing nefarious, but rather, pure gaming) to my online profile (which is well accessible, but I do not wish by any means to revert to the Gamerscore value I once had three weeks ago in exchange for the Gamerscore I deserve now).
So here is the question, unless anyone knows a way for me to "sync" my current Gamerscore to that of my online Gamertag, do I give up, and trying to make up for those lost 1000+ Gamerscore?
(Keep in mind, what I'm trying to do is NOT to transfer achievement points from one Gamertag to another, but rather to sync the achievements I acquired while playing offline so that they appear on my online account).
