Editor's Note: Thank goodness we have such an active community. If we didn't, I might actually have to do some work as community manager. Alex gives you everything you need to know to participate in Day One of Field Week. -Andrew

Welcome to the first day of the first ever Bitmob/1UP Field Week! Cody Winn (1UP community star and active Bitmob member) and I have rallied the troops to create a slew of fun and/or thought-provoking activities for you to participate in this whole week. Some of them will even offer prizes!

Keep your eyes peeled all week long for my spotlight posts. They'll round-up each and every activity taking place here on Bitmob and contain links to Cody's helpful activity summaries over on 1UP. All you have to do is participate, participate, and participate! Let's find out what the community cooked up for day one, shall we?

Morning Cup of Mob

Every day this week, Bitmob regular Chris "Cosmo" Ross, will crack open his head and let all those gooey thoughts spill out. He hopes he'll inspire some discussion, but be prepared for a twist. I'm not entirely sure if the results will be be incredibly enlightening or hilariously satirical. Either way, check them out.

WarioWare D.I.Y. Game Design Contest

Chase Koeneke will use the most recent installment in Nintendo's WarioWare series to get your creative juices flowing. He's challenged everyone to take a theme and run with it. The best part? He'll open up the submissions to a community vote on Wednesday and the winner will get a nice, new, shiny prize! So get designing!

Bitmobbers on Twitter

Bitmob moderator Lance Darnell will guide the discussion on Twitter, and he's got a couple prizes to hand out to random participants. Just check out what topic he's got cooked up for the day and start tweeting, making sure to use the appropriate hashtag. Oh, and don't forget to follow Bitmob on Twitter!

High Score Challenge #1: Robot Unicorn Attack

He of epic hair, Jeff Grubb, is assaulting us with tests of gamer skill this week. Fancy yourself the master of games? Prove it, buddy! Get the high score in any of the three games that Jeff throws at us this week and he's got a reward for you. Second place provides nothing but the taste of failure. Just be sure to keep one thing in mind when you play: We don't play High Score Challenges in "Nice Guy Mode" or "Good Sportsmanship Mode." When we do a High Score Challenge, it is nothing but "Be A Dick Mode."

Caption Contest

Travis McReynolds is known as one of Bitmob's funniest community members. His hilarious photo captions are well known by our readers. Now it's your turn to be funny. If you come out the Caption Captain you'll be the owner of a sweet prize. Even second place wins if it makes someone laugh, but… there's no prize for that.

Over at 1UP

Cody Winn has organized quite a line-up of activities over at 1UP. There's game character identification bingo, a webcomic contest, and writing prompts for satire and bad gaming memories. 1UP has got some prizes to hand out as well, so join in over there!

And don't forget

We've got a handful of other posts here on Bitmob that are looking for the community submissions:

Trevor Hinkle's Year in Review call-out.

Michael Rousseau's Fog of War writing prompt.

Community manager Andrew Hiscock's walkthrough call-out.

Omar Yusuf's Gamer Tourism community homework assignment.

They're ongoing throughout the week, but participate before time runs out!
