The first thing I do is go hunting for the bear and his shark companion with my trusty shotgun and shells. While I love mangos and bananas, and they can give me all of the necessary nutrients I need for survival, I’m an omnivore and have always wanted to try bear meat. I figure this is as good a time as any. At night I read the instruction manual for the water purifier – I have no damned idea how it works, so I certainly can’t just power it on and get it working. I conserve the bear and shark meat, savoring them like delicacies and refrigerating the leftovers. It’s the only meat I’ll have for a year – I want it to last. When I’m not reading up on water purification techniques, I’ve hooked up the television and the SNES. Lufia is a game that took me about a year to beat when I was younger; I figure I’ll have it completed by the time the boat comes back which will put me in good spirits. I eventually get the water purifier hooked up; just in time too as I was starting to become a little crazy from drinking sea water. As I began becoming friends with the Coconut tribe, the illusions faded away and I’m left alone but full of delicious bear and shark meat as I coast out the year on Lufia and randomly shooting my shotgun at things I believe are ghosts.

After the event, if I could have had an 11th item, what would I have brought? A woman… or at least a blowup doll.
