Editor's note: I'm sad to see Field Week end. It's been loads of fun. Check out the activities planned for its final day! -Andrew
Sadly, we've reached the final day of the Bitmob/1UP Field Week. It's been a fun ride. It took some effort, but with the help of Cody Winn, Andrew Hiscock, the rest of the Bitmob staff, and all of the Bitmob and 1UP community members, we pulled it off.
But let's not get hung up in the farewell speech — we've still got a day of events ahead of us!
Bitmobbers on Twitter Day Five
Lance Darnell is closing out the week with his final day of Bitmobbers on Twitter. He still has one more winner to declare, so this could be your lucky day. Go find out what his topic is and join in the fun.
High Score Challenge #3
Jeff Grubb is back to send Field Week packing with one last High Score Challenge. Didn't get a nice, shiny, new prize this week? Now is your last chance.
The illustrious Chris "Cosmo" Ross has been keeping us entertained all week long with his current gaming habits, followed by challenges to the community. He's had us writing responses to him that include specific phrases like "eating bananas is…" to giving him the worst sentence we could ever dream up. Why not find out what he expects from us today?
Halo: Reach Screenshot Results
A.J. Minotti rallied up a crew of community members and hit the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta last night. He's collected some screenshots from the game for all of us who missed out. Be sure to watch his Bitmob feed. He'll be posting them sometime this afternoon.
Write Your Own Adventure Results
Earlier this week, Mark Whitney put up a callout to the community to finish the story he started. You were stranded on an island with 10 items of your choice. How did everyone survive for a year and eliminate the bear-on-a-shark threat? Read the hilarious results.
Over at 1UP
Cody and the 1UP community are finishing Field Week with a handful of fun puzzles and events, and they've collected submissions for their music and webcomic challenges. 1UP members are pretty creative, and I recommend you check out their work. Please don't laugh at my terrible webcomic. I never claimed to have any drawing abilities.
Beyond Field Week
All of the events above may be ending tonight, but there is still plenty of events to partake in with due dates beyond Field Week. Be sure to give them your support. I've compiled them in order of when the entries are due:
Omar Yusuf's Gamer Tourism community homework assignment is being collected at the beginning of next week! Hurry up and contribute if you haven't yet.
Chris Hoadley's Extended Commentary call-out is due on May 19. I'm really looking forward to seeing more people turn those quickly typed comments into thought-provoking articles.
Community manager Andrew Hiscock's walkthrough call-out is due on May 19.
Trevor Hinkle's Year in Review call-out is due at the end of the month. Reminisce about your Bitmob experiences.
Michael Rousseau's Fog of War writing prompt is due on May 31. It should help you to improve your writing, so give it a go.
My Backlog Brigade: Shadow of the Colossus Edition is looking for people who haven't played through the game or want to do it again. The deadline is up in the air, as it will continue for as long as people are still playing and discussing the game with each other.
