Fake!

After Gabe cleared up that the "leaked" image circulating this weekend was indeed a fake, we are left to wonder what Valve's "surprise" announcement at E3 will be.

My thoughts?

Valve is remaking the original Half-Life for the Wii.

Did I just pull that out of my ass? Yes! BUT, even though I think that idea should be looked at with a fair ammount of skepticism I do think that there is some history that would make that possibility at least withng the realm of possibility.

Mario/Valve Baby. You see, in 2007 when talking to Game Informer, Newell had this to say about the Wii: "It’s the machine I have at home. The fact that we don’t have anything in development on it even though it represents big opportunities as a whole, it’s an obvious hole in our strategy.

2007 is a pretty long time for Valve to put at least something for the Wii on the burner.

While some have suggested that the cancellation of an event for Portal 2 and the announcement of a "surprise" meant the possibility of Valve showing up at Microsoft's press conference, I have to wonder if instead we will see Gordon Freeman standing alongside Mario at Nintendo's presser this year.

Look, I am 100% prepared for this to be wrong on this call. It could be a surprise as small as limited exclusivity to the 360, or perhaps a new IP we have never heard of, but the idea of Valve working on something for the Wii is at least a possibility that should be considered. No matter how unlikely it might be.

Does that idea blow your mind, or did you just shake your head and silently judge me for being crazy enough to think that Gabe Newell would stoop so low as to make a game on Nintendo's little white box? Instead of Half-Life, do you think a Wii version of Portal would be a better choice? Speak up in the comments below!
