Video games have had a huge impact on my life. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the industry but didn’t know in what respect. Making games would be cool but I thought I would enjoy covering them even more. Playing all sorts of games before they were released and being privy to information no one else had was intriguing.
Back when 1up went through a change of hands, I read that Shoe and Demian were going to run their own start-up. When I found out exactly what the idea behind it was, I got excited. The concept of a site where a person who wasn’t in the industry could submit articles was brilliant. Why hadn’t anyone thought of this before?
Immediately, two ideas for articles came to mind. Unfortunately, life would get in the way and I had to wait before I could embark on my dream of writing about games.
Fast forward a year and I would lose my job. I tried wholeheartedly to get another job but it just wasn’t happening. As one to never rest, I was anxious to do something… but what?
Oh yeah! Bitmob!
One of the two initial ideas just so happened to become the first article I wrote. The response has been tremendous. Exactly one week ago today I posted it and the hit count doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. This has been great encouragement to keep writing.
Currently, I’m hard at work writing the second idea I had. I don’t want to give it away, but I’ll give a small hint: It’s a sensitive subject that many deal with every day. Hopefully, it will make people think and stir up a little controversy similar to my first article.
Thank you, Bitmob. I’m glad I took the plunge.
