Please welcome Mitch Dyer as a writer on the Bitmob staff. A freelancer for multiple publications – his bio says “almost every online and print outlet on the market” — expect Mitch to contribute a couple of pieces each week. We hope you enjoy reading his material just as much as we do.

To learn a little more about Mitch, read some of his pieces from his Bitmob tryout on Alan Wake, developer commentaries, and hypocrisy in advertising. As a member of the Bitmob community, he recently wrote a well-received piece on the role of video-game journalists.

But Mitch won't be the final addition to the Bitmob staff. The next could be you.

We’re looking for another person to join the staff. The search this time focuses on your published work, either here at Bitmob or articles/blogs on other magazines or sites. Please send me three writing samples that are good representations of your work (note: articles the Bitmob editors have edited and promoted to the front page aren’t eligible unless you submit the version as it stood before we edited it). If you send files, please send them in rich-text format. Candidates will also take an editing test in the second phase.

Please send your submissions to jason.wilson@bitmob.com. The deadline is noon Monday, Aug. 9. Note: This is an unpaid position at this time.

Additional notes from Shoe:

While we know these are not as good as getting regular checks, we can offer you:

  • Increased exposure in the industry
  • Access to press events (from a preview event to E3)…especially if you live near San Francisco, CA
  • An occasional free game (to cover), sometimes before it's released to the public
  • Opportunities to get paid freelance work via our partnership with EGM
  • Direct feedback on your writing and editing from experienced editors
