(My first Marvel vs Capcom 3 loss)

First thing first, I played one round of this game with three characters that I had never used in any way before. Making this the lamest preview possible (it takes a lot longer to get a good sense of a fighting game). With that out of the way, the game was amazing. The graphics are a lot clearer in person than the direct feed footage would lead you to believe. Something about really playing the game at 60 FPS makes it pop out a bit more. Also, the character models are pretty detailed and well animated. At no point did I miss the old 2D sprites and I don't imagine that anyone will (unlike the complaints over Street Fighter's new look). These models look great in motion and seem to have a lot more life than what the old sprites had to offer, but that could be because the sprites were all on their 100th reuse by that point.

The game's controls also seemed to hold up pretty well. I had some difficulty tagging out properly, but that had more to do with my issues using the PS3 pad rather than the actual game. However, I had no problems pulling off supers, specials, dashing, super jumping, and all of that good stuff. I have a good feeling that this game is amazing when played on a stick.

Amaterasu

(Good dog)

Out of the three characters that I used (Deadpool, Trish, and Amaterasu), Amaterasu was easily the best. This dog was a rush-down beast and seemed to do a great job keeping my opponent in the corner and unable to move. I'm pretty sure that I would have won if I could have used her three times in a row.

Even outside of everything else, the game is just fun. I imagine that this will be Capcom's big party game for the next couple years. After all, who doesn't want to use a dog to beat-down Thor?
