It's almost October, which means it's time for a somewhat late Bitmob Big 10 for August. I blame…that creepy guy standing behind you with a knife. Look out!

Whoa, that was close! Good thing I was here to save you.

Let's see, where was I? Ah yes, the list.

Nobody from July made it onto this list, but that doesn't mean that August was a slow month. Quite the contrary — it was super-tough to make the top 10 this time around. Dennis Scimeca can vouch for this; he had three stories in the top 20, but couldn't quite crack the top 10. Still, that's quite an impressive feat. Nice work, Dennis.

A big "thanks" goes out to all of you who made the list; everyone at Bitmob (even Brett) really appreciates your contributions.

OK, enough yapping, let's see the results!

Do you want to be on next month's list? Here are some tips:

Catchy Titles: A great title goes a long way —  you'd be amazed at how much this matters. If your title doesn't draw peoples' attention, it doesn't matter how good your article is. You can easily double or triple your hits with a catchy and interesting title.

Format your articles: Short, concise paragraphs and pictures go a long way.

Encourage comments: Ask your readers to share their opinions.

Promote your work: Share your links via Twitter, Facebook, message boards, N4G.com, Reddit, and StumbleUpon
