Mario

The Community Spotlight highlights some of the best articles that didn't quite make the front page. This week, we look at a new model of an old friend, get together to beat each other up, and well…I make fun of Demon's Souls. Again.

By Jan Neves
Jan shares another one of his projects: a 3D model of Mario. What would you have Mario do? Here’s your chance to beg and plead Jan to make it happen. Personally, I’d like to see Mario  discuss the finer points of Nietzsche, but I‘m not going to ask…I wouldn’t want Jan to think I’m weird.

Poor use of co-op can ruin a game
By Richard Bywater
Here, Richard argues that when developing a campaign for both single-player and co-op, one of the modes is going to suffer. Maybe all games should have separate campaigns like Resistance 2…wait a minute, maybe that’s not the best example….

Bitmob's Marvel vs. Capcom 3 player directory
By Michael Rousseau
Step up, hand us your your Gamertag or PSN ID so we can kick your ass. Or you can kick our ass. Can you even win in this game? It’s so spastic that I can’ even tell what’s happening…just that whatever it is, it’s crazy.

Death and gaming: Yurt the Silent Chief in Demon's Souls
By Joshua Duke
Enough about crazy games, what about the crazy people who play them? Obviously Jushua is one of them…man, Demon’s Souls…it makes so little sense to me. In fact, if I didn’t recognize all the words between the references to the game, I would have suspected that this article was written in a different language. In a way, though, I am happy people like Demon’s Souls — it proves that humanity has unlimited potential to do anything.

Hoping for a better Final Fantasy
By Jonathan Oyama
I’m not sure I agree with Jonathan…the Final Fantasy franchise can keep doing what it's doing. Oh, I’m certainly not going to play it or anything, but it can still keep being Final Fantasy. To me, Square Enix is like Radiohead. I used to love both, and now I couldn’t care less what either does these days. I let other people figure out if the games and music are any good. Frankly, it's too much stress and effort.
