If aspiring detectives list "finished L.A. Noire" on their resumes, would it help their chances of getting a gig?

Video Blips:

• After I play a good amount of L.A. Noire (which involves reading characters' facial expressions to determine if they're telling the truth), I expect to become a real-life human lie detector. It looks like I'll need to brush up on my 1940s lingo, however, if I want to be any good at it.

Continue after the break for a look at Epic Games' Unreal Engine tech demo, Samaritan; a new trailer for Shadows of the Damned; and a preview of Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime's multiplayer.

• The hero in this Samaritan video is quite the badass. He smokes cigarettes, has the power to turn his skin into some kind of rock substance, and beats up on corrupt cyborg cops. He also bears a striking resemblance to Grand Theft Auto 4's Niko Bellic. I wonder if they're related. [IGN]

• Make sure you learn from Garcia Hotspur's mistakes in Shadows of the Damned. Don't fall in love with a woman who's literally from hell and has all kinds of demonic baggage. Well, unless you're into that kind of thing.

• It's a good thing that Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime doesn't appear to recognize friendly fire. Otherwise, wouldn’t zapping your friends with one of those spirit-crippling lasers do a number on their souls?
