If I’m going to blow off $60 on a video game, I want something that will keep me entertained for 5 months minimum. Hence I could careless about a game with shiny graphics but with gameplay that’s about getting from Point A to Point B. Therefore I have high standards in what I play.

Games with the best replay value have a lot going for them. The gameplay gives good amount of freedom to the player while during the games progression I could unlock hidden items just like in the old days. It also features the option of side objectives that have nothing to do with the main story. I also want to go back and replay the adventure.

Below is a list of five games that have the best replay value that were released in the last few years. These are games anyone can play these games for hours without getting bored.

5. Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360 & PC) Resident Evil 5 fast-paced action along with abandoning anything that feels like an irritating puzzle makes it a new stared for all horror games. But what makes the game have outstanding replay value is all the unlockable content available for the player. These unlockable contents is not some stupid trophy for killing x amount of zombies in x amount of time. From secret weapons to alternative costumes, the hidden contents are actually worth trying to unlock.

4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, & PC)Modern Warfare 2 had both an intense single-player campaign along with the best multiplayer experience I’ve had since Counter Strike. But what makes Modern Warfare 2 standout from Black Ops is the Co-Op game that expands the gaming experience beyond just single player and multiplayer.

3. Red Faction: Guerilla (PS3, Xbox 360, & PC) – The Red Faction-series was quite for some time until the release of Red Faction: Guerilla in 2009. THQ discovered that adding Geo Mod into a sandbox setting then allowing gamers to take on the role of an insurgent works pretty well. Besides the main story; there are many fun side quests that makes the players progression easier. Despite all these gameplay values, its all about blowing s&%#-up.

2. Red Dead Redemption (PS3 & Xbox 360)Red Dead is superior to both its predecessor (Red Dead Revolver) and Grand Theft Auto IV. Like with GTA IV, Rockstar gave a lot of attention to details to its Old West setting. But unlike GTA IV, they added more to the gameplay element. Red Dead allows gamers to live in a simulation of the Southwest America during the 1900’s. By “live” I mean live of the land like a cowboy and engage in a verity of side quest that allow you to upgrade your skills.

1. Fallout: New Vegas (PS3, Xbox 360 & PC) – The most recent title on the list but with a lot more to offer then its predecessor. Fallout: New Vegas has combined the elements of RPG into a shooter set in a sand-box environment. Free-will is the main element of the game for its many story progressions and outcomes that will make the gamers journey either difficult or easy. Topped off with the hidden items scattered in the Mojave Wasteland makes Fallout: New Vegas a very addicting game.
