COD Pay Me

Revealed today in The Wall Street Journal, Activision announced its plans to launch the subscription online service, Call of Duty Elite. While no pricing information is available at this time, Activision has stated it will be comparable to other entertainment subscription offerings, Netflix's $7.99 model used as an example. Expected to compliment the November 8th release of Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty Elite will grant users access to content not offered anywhere else. This includes physical media, brick and mortar stores, or the ever popular expansion map packs. Essentially a pay-for online community of die-hard Call of Duty players, subscribers will be able to share stats across Facebook and Twitter, upload gameplay to YouTube, check trends of maps played and weapons used on the maps. Offering a slew of additional features, the trailer below should give players a great idea of what to expect when Call of Duty Elite launches.
