Capcom? Let’s talk. I really want to know why Gill was created in the first place for Street Fighter 3? No, do not give me that answer of hardcore SF Fans needed a challenge. You, my friend, have slept with difficulty far to long and this is a betrayal to me. I love you for the game but I cannot mess with Gill. He should have never come into existence. Until you learn what balance is, you and your game will be unplayable (or at least until someone give me a challenge at a arcade only cabinet).
Yes. I despise the creation of Gill and his cheap CPU moves. I love Third Strike. I cannot enjoy a great fighter like that (unless it is Alpha 3 or Capcom Vs. Tatsunoku). Yet, the problem that turns me away from the game is Gill and his unbalance move set (and arcade sticks for fighters in general). I might not be the best SF player at all but what I do have is a heart to accept my wins and losses to others. Gill on the other hand cheats like a republican scandal who speaks on family matters (yeah, your mistress is upset that she is a side chick and only that). I have tried many of times to fight Gill in the arcade but how can I fight a character who switches fire and ice and have a replenish super move like it was a cure all potion? He get his super up quickly and boom, goes for it. I can go for combos and tech blocks and everything else but because of the lack of balance and at times, a extreme challenge, I get bored with the continuation of the fight. It might be free to play but this should have never been the case.
See, the characters you choose from in fighters always get some kind to tweak to them. Never though will the main boss get one (and if it has happen, please tell me). Third Strike problems is that although it is the third iteration of Street Fighter 3, it is still not complete and balance. The balance for the game comes with challenge and some easier way to defeat the CPU in some fashion. Not 4 fire kicks to the head you win gameplay. I understand Akuma was too powerful and has been tweak many times and sometimes banned from tournament play but if Gill was available for player use, people would cry foul and want him OUT the game. If he is place into a person who knows the game inside out, it means death and frustration for others who haven’t learned his moves and counter attacks for it. Matches could last no longer than 7 seconds.
I understand SF4 was release multiple times with tweaks and Capcom Vs Marvel 3 will release with update but where was the balancing in the older games that could’ve easily be fix before launch? I feel that Gill has been tweak from 2nd Impact to Third Strike. He’s a unfair boss that seems to be upsetting. There might be more Fighting games (or other games in general) that have this problem which can make some intended audience distance themselves from that franchise.
So Capcom. I need you to balance. Also, never add Gill to any SF game in the future.
