I wonder what would happen if Joust and Ghost’n’Goblins became a crossover game? Arthur on the Joust Ostrich with him throwing his lance on a 2D land shoot em up. Develop by Treasure. Okay, that is way far fetch (and would be difficult to play if Treasure makes it super hard). With Professor Layton/Phoenix Wright, Street Fighter x Tekken and vice versa and all other kind of cross over games, I think the most unknown and unexpected games to come together and make something mind blowing would be what we need.

Crossovers are not nothing new and some games have had other characters in other games (Dante in Viewtiful Joe and Shin Megami series). They are though, games need to be made more. Not smash bros. or MvsC kind of games but a crazy beat em up with Final Fight and Streets Of Rage cast together. Megaman and R type kind of shoot em ups. More 2D downloads or even hand held games would be welcome.

Crossovers provide two different game plays and mergers them to fit one another in order for the game itself to work. Where fighting games have more of a balance and linear style of play, these games must have techniques and offensive/defensive commands. Sure, in human thought only, Ryu would have a hard time beating Wolverine due to his mutant healing powers but Ryu fireballs in Super mode can give him a run for his money. That’s just viewers logic.

In fact, satirical crossover might just be the thing we need (cause the Paper Mario series would work great with Viewtiful Joe). Also, who would expect Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton together? That just speak comedy gold. Of course Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank makes a great team. Those for on a quest? Let hilarity ensues.

So. If a crossover game was offer to be made, what would you want it to be? For me, Zelda and Okami.
