I can honestly say that games will never worry me. Even with backlash or agreements on various games and their styles and game play, I continue to be amazed and wrapped in them. They are not my whole world though and I can easily distance myself when I know I had enough. My reason for saying this: I think video games may become obsolete.

With technology advancing and a few younger viewing of games, I think what make a video game a video game is dying out. When we had arcades, we had a whole new world and skill that consoles couldn’t produce. Yet, that is vice versa for them. The NES gave gamers something arcades couldn’t produce. The Master System was what made Sega SEGA. They might have been in completion with Nintendo but they had their own Ips that were great and change some genre’s themselves.

Gamers now don’t see that. Older gamers want M rated games that they can beat and trade in. Some of the younger gamers want that too. The Nintendoian’s want that Nintendo games and Sonyiacs want their games.

It has become more about graphics, head shot skill, leader boards, and all these advancement in games. Though one thing is missing from all of this. No, it is not fun.

It’s the game itself.

Video Games are losing the definition of being a video game. I can go retro anytime yet I still enjoy today’s gaming but it surprises me when I talk about games with other people and their response isn’t what I expect. I can ask them about Mega man 2 and compare it to Resistance and they would not get the connection. When I tell them about the Wii, they think why would I have that system? I tell them because of the games on there. The range from crazy to actually genre changing is what gets me. When they say something about 360, I actually challenge them and ask about their collection. Video games wise, my Wii library outshines theirs. Their video game knowledge of course, doesn’t compare to mine and that’s hurtful in a way.

I think some gamers need to just play and try everything. I might not like Madden, but I have purchase it and practice it. I’m not a big Rock Band player but I will pick it up and give it a go with no shame. I tried Call Of Duty and though it is popular with a lot of gamers, it is not something I see as “all that” but I do appreciate it and play it.

I just miss when games were games at times though. Muramase: The Demon Blade something I can say is a Video Game. It just stands out in so many ways but it has those video game ingredients that makes it a video game.

You might think I am complaining about today’s games but I am actually not. I just worry that the spirit and reasoning of Video Games may die out.
