Want video game music?  Don't want to pay for the music?  You're in the right place!  Every month, I take the video game arrangements, remixes, and even original soundtracks released that month and stuff them all here, for your listening pleasure!  This month's holiday break has seemed to go well for our gaming musicians as well, as there's a whole slew of albums that are only a download away!

Without further ado, here's the video game albums released in December.

BadAss Boss Themes

Every month, OCRemix releases an arrangement album to satisfy gaming music fan's tastes.  This month the site has actually released two albums, and BadAss Boss Themes is the first.  As the name might suggest, the album takes some of the coolest boss themes and remixes them to be even cooler.  The album turns mainly to hard rock for its remixes, so if that's not your cup of tea, this album may not be for you.  There are a few other non-rock remixes, though, so it's worth at least a preview.

Wild ARMs: ARMed and
DANGerous

ARMed and DANGerous is OCRemix's other album this month.  While this album focuses only on the Wild ARMs series (obviously), it is much meatier and has a lot more songs than BadAss Boss Themes did.  Wild ARMs doesn't seem to be a series well known for its music, but the series has produced some awesome music, and much of it is lovingly remixed here.  Even if you don't know much of the series' musical score, this 58 track album is a good way to start!

Alter Ego Original Soundtrack

Alter Ego is a game with a lot of history to it.  This actually started out as a ZX Spectrum game, and little more was heard about the game until recent years.  Earlier this year, a user known at NES World as Shiru remade the game for the NES, releasing the ROM for free.  Of course, the game needed a soundtrack, as the original Spectrum version didn't support music.  This is where the OST comes from, created by Kulor.  The soundtrack even has 'enhanced' tracks of the songs, which is featured in the official Windows 7 remake of the game.  It's worth checking out on the history alone!

Mighty Switch Force! Original
Soundtrack

Mighty Switch Force! is a platform-puzzler for the 3DS… which is nice, since the platform has few downloadable games to choose from that are actually unique to it.  The third in a series (with Mighty Milky Way and Mighty Flip Champs being the other two), you can expect much of the same of this soundtrack as you would from the rest of the series. (Bonus!  The soundtrack for the other two games are free too!  Check it out.)  This soundtrack has some neat remixes, too.

Shiryu-Shiryu's Arcade Volume 5

Shiryu sure is a busy guy!  Rarely a month goes by without him releasing a new album or another.  The fifth in his arcade arrangement series, Shiryu packs this full of more of his unique remixes, which are worth listening to just for interesting style he uses.

Generation Gap

Since it is (or was, I suppose is a bit more accurate) the blue hedgehog's 20th anniversary, many artists have been remixing the games' tracks to commemorate Sonic.  This album, created by a one Brian Branscum, re-arranges five of Sonic's old Genesis tracks into a hardcore rock fest.  A lot of Sonic's music is pretty awesome, the the rock treatment is really a nice touch.

Act 3

Act 3 isn't a very… descriptive name, but it's an album in a line of Sonic remixes by Mr Stream (with the previous entries being named Act 1 and Act 2, respectively).  The remixes are pretty nice, with some common and uncommon Sonic songs remixed.  If Generation Gap wasn't enough to fill your ring-shaped hole in your musical soul, this'll be sure to fill that gap (no pun intended)!

Oldie But Still a Freebie!
8-Bit Bullshit

This month's Oldie is a bit of a different entry.  8-Bit Bullshit is a video game rap album… and like any good rap song, it has profanities and demeaning vocabulary galore.  Of course, while this isn't kid- or work-friendly, it is an amusing album, laden with the "thoughts" of some of the main characters of 8-Bit classics, such at Snake and Little Mac.  I mean, maybe they really did think those things…
