Thank you sir, but I’ll stand.
Before I begin my debriefing, I’d just like to say that it’s been an honor and a pleasure to be assigned to Resident Evil Revelations. As a veteran of multiple Resident Evil campaigns, I had my reservations about whether or not an operation of this level could be executed on the 3DS. I’m glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
That being said… permission to speak freely, sir? Thank you.
I’ll be honest: I have no idea what actually happened during the course of my mission. Initially, I went in under the premise that my objective was to combat the terrorist forces of Il Veltro and stop them from contaminating a fifth of the world’s waters with the T-Abyss virus. I expected some twists and — if you’ll pardon me, sir — revelations, but post-mission, I found it difficult to describe what actually transpired aboard the Queen Zenobia. Without spoiling the surprise, sir, I feel that the ridiculous nature of events that I had to fight through made it unclear as to what exactly I was fighting for, and many of the decisions my superiors made over the course of my mission made little to no tactical sense to me, sir. With all due respect, of course.
Yes sir… I suppose you’re right. My job is to carry out my assigned mission, not to worry about the why, in this kind of work, anyway. In that regard, sir, aside from the constant locale switching that took away from the claustrophobic tone that I’ve come to expect from similar assignments, the blend of classic survival horror and modern shooting trappings really brought back what I used to love about my past adventures. The addition of the Genesis scanner forced me to slow down and take in my surroundings in order to scavenge for ammo, ammo that I desperately needed when the shit hit the fan — if you’ll pardon my French, sir.
Before I go, please let the record show that I really enjoyed Raid Mode, the unlockable mode earned over the course of the campaign. Teaming up with another player online or locally to take on remixed campaign missions with modified enemy types and an addictive loot system is definitely a good use of my R&R time, sir. I’ve actually spent more time working on raids than my main objective, which should explain the delay in filing my report.
Now, if you’ll let me take my leave, sir, I have to hit level 50 and get a Drake shotgun for my collection before my next mission.
