I really wanted to tell you that the new SSX is amazing, that it captures the spirit of the past games and takes it to greater heights…..sadly the thing about gravity is that you eventually have to come crashing back down to earth.

SSX just becomes boring, I tried my best to love it or find the fun in it, but I just became bored each time I played. Every body knows how a SSX game works, you snow board down some crazy hill, do some insane gravity defying tricks to some sweet tunes. That's all in here but for some reason it just isn't fun, this new SSX feels like it has an identity crisis. Which if anybody remembers is true, when EA first announced that SSX was coming back it looked like things were too extreme but not in a fun way. More of like you could die out here dude, I'm pretty sure after much negative fan feedback it slowly was converted back to it's roots.

Sadly it's levels were designed for surviving, which makes riding down them not very fun at all. I found myself constantly crashing into walls or falling to my death which is when I had to activate my magic power of rewinding time. That's right folks you can rewind time but only your time because other racers keep going like nothing…..wtf?! Special gear items now help you survive these brutal environments, like air tanks, armor and wing suits. The wing suits are fun and make you feel like a flying squirrel till you crash into cliff. As far as the events go, you got your tricky events, race it and survive it. Which is pretty self explanatory but fine I'll explain a little more, some mountains have elements you need to survive. Whether it be too many tree's or ice or endless drops to your death.

I would love to say this is fun but once again it isn't and the graphics don't look next gen at all. My room mate walked in while I was playing and asked me "what old Xbox game was I playing?" It's sad because I really liked SSX back in the day, I really wanted to like this game but I ended up only liking it's soundtrack. If your fan give it rent but don't buy this game, just go to your local Gamestop and find a used copy of one of the past games, you'll have more fun.
