For those who haven't heard there is currently a "contest" going on that involves a mind-bending amount of indie games called Ludum Dare. Excuse me if there are any discrepancies in this, for I have only just heard of this.
Ludum Dare is a contest where you the player can play and then judge a copious amount of indie games all centered around a theme. It appears this years theme is "tiny world". As of this post there are 1402 games that you can play and rate right now. But don't feel overwhelmed, as many of them are short ten minute games and by no means do you have to play all of them. I myself have played quite a few of them. Obviously not all of them are going to be Super Meat Boy quality but there are quite a few that stand out.
If you would like to learn more about it, or are just interested in playing a few free indie games, most of which don't require a download, then just go to this website http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ and enjoy. Also feel free to share some hidden gems you may have found by posting them in the comments section. Thank you.
