Today marks the 6th anniversary of Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s announcement

So, where the hell is it? Good question.

Honestly, Square or whoever, just cancel the damn thing and convert it to a direct-to-Blu-ray feature or something. As much as I'd like to play and experience Tetsuya Nomura's fantasy with its Tokyo-like aesthetics and silver zippers — I can theoretically say that it will not live up to the hype.

Seriously guys, just watch this gameplay footage (taken from 2011's FF January event) and tell me if that plays any better than say, The Last Story or even Mass Effect 3 (i.e. modern, goody action-RPGs)

I mean: 6 years in the making (and counting)!? Reaaaally now. Because it doesn't feel like it, save for the visuals maybe.

Oh, in case you haven't heard — and this is hardly a surprise to anyone who's been following Versus XIII's limbo-development story — the game will not make an appearance at this year's E3. Shocking!
