I finally got Dark Souls. Please leave your words of encouragement and/or your dire warnings to never play it in the comments.
News Blips:
Irrational Games delays BioShock Infinite into 2013. “When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing,” Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine said in a release this morning. “Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.” Basically, it sounds like they forgot to make a boss based on John Quincy Adams, so the team is gonna need more time. The new release date: February 26, 2013. The new level of increasing demand: Frothing.
Activision will release a free new mode for all Modern Warfare 3 players. Face Off, said new mode, is designed for one-on-one or two-on-two battles. Co-developers Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward have created four smaller maps to work specifically with this new play style. Surprisingly, this mode (and two of the Face Off maps) will be free for every 360 player beginning on May 15. As per usual, PlayStation 3 users will have to wait a month to receive the same deal. I’m currently in touch with my sources to see if Nicholas Cage or John Travolta are involved in this new DLC in any way.

Bethesda and id celebrate Wolfenstein 3D’s 20-year anniversary with a browser version of the first-person shooter. Before Doom, id Software had players mowing down Nazis and ridding the world of evil Mecha Hitler (not that there was ever a good Mecha Hitler). As a means of marking the game’s two decades of existence, the dev has released a free version of the game that is playable in your browser. Head here to see it running in all of its 256-color VGA glory.
