I'm not sure what's motivating the eerie trend for live-action Nintendo 3DS commercials, but the bizarre marketing for the equally quirky downloadable role-playing game The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave follows the craze.
Previously, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Rhythm Thief, and even Resident Evil: Revelations had similarly unusual/awkward advertisments full of people in costume or women eating yogurt before being menaced by zombies.
For the first time since the infamous Nintendo vs. Sega ad wars in the early '90s, commercials are getting truly wacky. While I appreciate this trend, I'm not sure three men in body suits are an effective marketing tool for a video game….
